What is a VPS server?

VPS hosting is a virtual private server and a virtualized server. A VPS hosting environment mimics a dedicated server in a shared hosting environment. It is technically both shared and dedicated hosting.

VPS Hosting is one of the types of web hosting accounts you can choose from to host your website online. For a site to be on the Internet, the site’s files must be on a Web server.

Setting up and managing a server is not only expensive but can be complicated. Purchasing web hosting allows someone to rent space on a web server, making it easier to run the website of an average website, as all you have to do is upload their site files (there is no need to set up the server for them).

Why is VPS hosting different from shared and dedicated sites?

You can rent from us a full dedicated server. This is optimal for people who have very high traffic to their site or need to set up their server in a very specific way. However, not everyone needs to have a fully dedicated web server. If you are just starting out on your site, you can save a lot of money by renting a small portion of the server. Shared hosting occurs when you share a portion of a server with other users instead of renting an entire server to yourself.

If you are considering a dedicated server and are not sure if it is right for you, you can start with a VPS .

How does VPS hosting work?

The technology behind VPS storage is similar to VMware or Virtual Box technology. These programs allow you to run multiple virtualized operating systems on a single machine. You may be running Windows 7 on your desktop, but you can run other operating systems, such as Windows XP or Linux, without restarting your computer.

Operating system virtualization

Our VPS hosting environment works the same way. While you have a physical server, you can run several different virtualized operating systems on the same server. Every virtualized operating system behaves as if it were a dedicated server. This allows you to be a fraction of the cost with all the benefits of a dedicated server.

We offer management service packages for all our servers.

Please note, that our VPS plans cannot be used for any form of SPAM, mass mail, marketing mail or any bulk mail whatsoever. We do not block ports, however traffic on the SMTP port 25 might be throttled to prevent abuse. Regular business use if course OK.

Do not order if your intent is spamming. All VPS orders are manually checked. Blacklisted customers will have their orders cancelled and no refund issued for abuse of our TOS. Thank you for your understanding.

Fair Use Bandwidth Policy for Unmetered VPS Hosting Plans
At Infotechna, we offer unmetered bandwidth VPS hosting plans to provide flexibility and freedom for your hosting needs. Our goal is to deliver reliable, high-performance services to all customers. To maintain a balanced and stable environment, we implement this Fair Use Bandwidth Policy for our unmetered plans. This policy ensures that bandwidth usage remains fair and does not compromise the experience of other users sharing our infrastructure.
1. Unmetered Bandwidth Definition
“Unmetered bandwidth” means that your VPS plan does not impose a fixed monthly data transfer limit (e.g., 1TB or 5TB). Instead, you are allocated a dedicated portion of network resources based on your plan’s specifications (e.g., port speed such as 1Gbps or 10Gbps). However, this does not equate to unlimited or unrestricted usage—bandwidth is subject to the terms of this fair use policy.
2. Fair Use Guidelines
“Fair use” refers to bandwidth consumption that aligns with the intended purpose of your VPS plan and does not disproportionately affect the performance, stability, or availability of our shared network infrastructure. While we encourage robust usage, excessive or abusive activity may trigger a review under this policy.
3. Examples of Acceptable Use
  • Hosting websites with moderate to high traffic, such as e-commerce platforms, blogs, or forums.
  • Streaming media, file hosting, or application services that operate within the reasonable capacity of your plan’s port speed.
  • Running databases, APIs, or development environments with typical network demands.
4. Examples of Excessive or Prohibited Use
  • Operating large-scale file-sharing platforms, torrent trackers, or peer-to-peer networks that monopolize network resources.
  • Hosting services designed to generate sustained maximum bandwidth usage (e.g., stress testing tools, proxy networks, or cryptocurrency mining relays).
  • Using the VPS as a dedicated content delivery network (CDN) or traffic relay that exceeds the reasonable scope of an unmetered VPS plan.
5. Port Speed Limitations
Your unmetered bandwidth is governed by the port speed assigned to your plan (e.g., 1Gbps, 10Gbps). You may utilize this speed fully, but sustained usage at or near the maximum capacity for extended periods may be considered excessive if it impacts other customers. We reserve the right to investigate and address such cases.
6. Monitoring and Enforcement
  • Monitoring: We monitor network traffic to ensure compliance with this policy. Usage patterns are analyzed to detect activities that strain our infrastructure or degrade service quality for others.
  • Notification: If your usage is flagged as excessive or abusive, we will contact you via email with details of the issue and request adjustments (e.g., optimizing your services or upgrading your plan).
  • Throttling or Suspension: In cases where excessive usage persists after notification and negatively affects other customers, we may throttle your bandwidth to a reasonable level or, as a last resort, temporarily suspend your VPS. Suspension will only occur after reasonable attempts to resolve the issue with you.
  • No Overage Fees: Since your plan is unmetered, you will not incur additional bandwidth charges. However, failure to comply with fair use may result in the above actions.
7. Plan Upgrades
If your bandwidth demands consistently push the limits of your current unmetered plan, we recommend upgrading to a higher-tier plan with a faster port speed or dedicated resources. Our support team can assist you in finding the best solution for your needs.
8. Appeals and Support
If you believe your usage has been misidentified as excessive or have questions about this policy, please reach out to our support team at [support email/phone]. We’re committed to working with you to ensure your hosting experience remains seamless.
9. Policy Updates
We may update this Fair Use Bandwidth Policy to adapt to evolving technology, network conditions, or business requirements. Any changes will be communicated to customers via email or our website.
